Jason Landry is the author of Instant Connections, a book that intertwines essays, interviews, quotes and autobiographical stories around the central theme of photography. Secondary themes in the book have to do with the idea of making connections, having mentors and creating your personal art network. The book features essays about significant individuals and mentors who have influenced the author and who have helped him shape his career in the arts. There are interviews with acclaimed photographers including William Wegman, Leonard Nimoy, Vik Muniz and Harold Feinstein, as well as quotes and educational content focusing on the topic of photography and collecting from the likes of Chuck Close and W.M. Hunt.
Landry is the Owner of Panopticon Gallery in Boston, Massachusetts. Established in 1971, it is one of the oldest fine art photography galleries in the United States specializing in contemporary, modern and vintage photography.
The author received a B.F.A. in Photography from the Massachusetts College of Art and Design, and went on to earn an M.F.A. in Visual Arts from The Art Institute of Boston at Lesley University. In 2013, the author accepted the position as Director of the MFA in Photography program at the New Hampshire Institute of Art.
Jason Landry is a photography collector and patron of the arts and support regional museums, institutions and non-profit organizations.
